Installing Patch 3 on Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.0 results in the appliance not booting (/boot cannot mount)

Issue/Introduction

The VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.0 (vRSLCM) appliance does not boot after Patch 3 was installed.

Console screen shows /boot failed to mount 

When attempting to mount /boot using "mount -a", you see the below error message: 

mount: /boot: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda2, missing codepage or helper program, or other error

Looking at journalctl -xe, you see:

Cause

This issue is currently being investigated.

Resolution

This will need modification in the appliance.
