How to integrate APM/CEM with Aternity.

Issue/Introduction

 Introduction:

 There are two methods to integrate CA APM/CEM with Aternity:

 1. Use the SNMP Adapter to send CEM defects to Aternity via SNMP.

 2. Leverage Integration Fieldpack scripts specified for APM/Aternity Integration.

 

 Background:

 Some customers would like to have an Integration solution between CA APM/CEM and Aternity.

 

 Instructions:

 To integrate CA APM/CEM with Aternity, there are two methods:

 1. Use the SNMP Adapter to process CEM defects via SNMP:

 This method uses the APM SNMP Adapter, which enables Introscope to report metrics to an external SNMP  Framework/Manager.

 However, the SNMP Adapter is a function of the Introscope Enterprise Manager rather than CEM (APM Database). So only  the CEM defects from BTstats data stored in the EM SmartStor can be processed via SNMP for the Aternity Integration and CEM incidents will not be available.

 2. Leverage Integration Fieldpack scripts specified for APM/Aternity Integration:

 From CA Services, the integration Fieldpack scripts specified for APM/Aternity Integration can be implemented. This is an  EPagent plugin to gather metrics from the Aternity database for viewing in an APM Dashboard. Customers will need to contact their CA Account Manager to obtain the supported version from Global Delivery.
