Issue/Introduction

In Operator Console, some machines have more than one Origin.

Can the display of multiple Origins be prevented?

Environment

DX UIM - Any Version
Operator Console - Any Version

Resolution

It is not possible to prevent multiple Origins from being displayed on a device.  The Origin (in most cases) represents the name of a hub underneath which data that belongs to this robot has been gathered, or underneath which the device has been discovered.  For example, a device that is monitored with the net_connect probe may have an Origin belonging to that device, and an Origin belonging to the device where net_connect is located.

It is possible to enrich/manipulate Origins or override them so that all the data for a specific device can have the same Origin.

The Origin of a hub or robot can be overridden at the controller/hub level, so that multiple hubs and controllers can have the same Origin.  It does not have to be the name of the hub.

The Origin of QoS data can also be manipulated with the qos_processor probe.
