Environment
VMware vCenter Server 8.x VMware vSphere ESXi 8.x VMware vCenter Server 7.x VMware vSphere ESXi 7.x
Resolution
Steps:
Login to vCenter server.
Select the vCenter Server in the inventory.
Click the Configure tab
Click the Alarm Definitions tab.
A preconfigured "Datastore usage on disk" alarm will appear.
To configure more alarms:
Click ADD.
Enter a custom Alarm Name.
Set the Target type to "Datastores".
Under the Rules section:
Add your desired condition.
Click "Add Another Rule" to define Rule.
Or click "Duplicate Rule" to quickly replicate and modify existing rules.
Click NEXT to continue.
Review the configuration.
Click NEXT, then CREATE to finalize and activate the alarm.
