How to add the User_Tag1 and User_Tag2 varbinds from Nimsoft traps into Spectrum events.

Environment

This only applies when using Nimsoft 8.3.1/8.4 and sending traps to SPECTRUM using the Nimosft snmpgtw probe.
 

Resolution

Do the following on the SpectroSERVER system:

1. Navigate to the $SPECROOT/SS/CsVendor/gen_app_gw/EventAdmin directory.
2. Modify the AlertMap file and edit the following traps

1.3.6.1.4.1.4055.1.6.2 – 1.3.6.1.4.1.4055.1.6.7

Add the following two varbinds mappings to the above traps:

1.3.6.1.4.1.4055.1.6.0(113,0)\
1.3.6.1.4.1.4055.1.7.0(114,0)
 
The finished AlertMap entry should look like the following:
 
     1.3.6.1.4.1.4055.1.6.3  0x06330022 \
                                1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 (100,0) \
                                1.3.6.1.4.1.4055.1.1.0(101,0) \

1. Using the Event Configuration Editor, add the following lines to the 0x6330000 – 0x6330075 event codes:

 
User_Tag1: {S 113}
User_Tag2: {S 114}
 
 

1. Navigate to the VNM Model in the OneClick Console. In the component detail Information tab, expand the SpectroSERVER Control sub-view and click the Update Event Configuration button.

 

1. On the OneClick webpage, click on the Administration link. Select “Update Event and Alarm Files” and click on the Reload button. When the next Nimsoft trap comes in you will see the User_Tag1 and User_Tag2 varbinds mapped in the Spectrum events.
