Veeam URL is not showing up under Data Protection with Veeam plug-in configuration in vCD provider portal.

Issue/Introduction

The URL/IP address of the Veeam Backup Enterprise Manager server is not showing up(blank) in Cloud Director portal under Data Protection with Veeam.

Though there is no impact on the functionality, only the URL/IP does not shows up.

When accessing the Veeam plugin via the Cloud Director portal, an error appears in the browser's Developer Tools console in affected environments:

• Status Code : 403 Forbidden

 

Environment

Cloud Director 10.6.x

 

Cause

The newly created organizations do not have the veeam-endpoint metadata by default, the API call using the new org’s UUID fails to retrieve the Enterprise Backup URL.

Resolution

Workaround:

When the URL is missing applying the same Enterprise Backup URL in the "Data Protection with Veeam". This action updates metadata on existing Orgs and adds metadata to newly created Orgs.

Note: Veeam has to fix the plugin, the query API and fetching metadata is all issued by the Veeam plugin.
