NFA install popup errors: "The JVM used for this installer seems to have been installed in a unsecured location (non-admin user folder)."

Issue/Introduction

As soon as the NFA Installer is launched, a popup error occurs while files are being unpacked before the NFA Install Wizard itself can even launch.  

The following error may occur:

"The JVM used for this installer seems to have been installed in a unsecured location (non-admin user folder)."

Or, there may be a JVM Error such as:

"Application Exception Details

Java.lang.ClassCastException: class Flexeraar1 cannot be cast to class Flexeraas3 (Flexeraar1 and Flexeraas3 are in unnamed module of loader 'app')"

 

 

 

Environment

NFA 24.x+

Cause

InstallAnywhere having problems accessing the TEMP variables to uncompress files prior to launching the Install Wizard

Resolution

If errors like this occur, try pointing the TEMP and TMP variables to Program Files which is owned by 'administrator'.

Now you can rerun the install (make sure to right click and run as administrator)

If this is not sucessful, please create a new local Windows user and make it an administrator. Log into the RDP with <hostname>\<usernameYouCreated> with the password you created as the password.
