Issue/Introduction

Import distributed switch configuration fails with below error:

A specified parameter was not correct: DistributedVirtualPortgroup::ConfigSpec Duplicate entry for dynamicProperty.__UuidOrKey__ specified in DistributedVirtualPortgroup::ConfigSpec. dynamicProperty.__UuidOrKey__ dvportgroup-2##1 already exists.

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi
VMware vSphere vCenter

Cause

The issue happens because a dvportgroup already exists in the vCenter environment.

Resolution

1. Identify the dvportgroup-#### from the exported zip file by opening the zip.
2. Make a note of all the dvportgroup-#### in the zip file. (backup.zip > data > files with extension .bak)
   
3. Validate if the above dvportgroup-#### is part of the below ManagedObjectReference: (MOB URL > content > Datacenters > Datacenter_Name > network)
   
   URL for MOB: https://<vCenter Server IP/FQDN >/mob/?moid=datacenter-ID
   
4. If the dvportgroup-xxxx from step 2 matches dvportgroup-#### of step 3, recreate the network and migrate all the VMs to the newly created network, to avoid further conflicts with duplicate dvportgroup-####.
