Refer to GUI Screenshots showing the issue

  2. Under Account and datasource page on the GUI, we see errors such as below:

  3. From collector logs at location /var/log/arking/collector/latest.log following errors and expectations are seen for added datasources:

Environment

Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.12.1
Aria Operations for Networks 6.13.0
Aria Operations for Networks 6.14.0

Cause

From above logs the common error message seen is User is not authorized to perform this operation on the application. Please contact the system administrator to get access.

Above clearly indicates thar both users for VCenter and NSXT used to add datasource did have the right role or privilege.

Resolution

To Resolve this issue, follow the below mentioned steps to revalidate the username with right Role and permissions and revalidate the datasources.

  1. Login and Navigate to Aria Operations GUI, Click Settings.

  2. Click Account and datasource option, the page loads.

  3. For the added datasources, ensure you use username with right Role and permissions and revalidate the datasources.
You can Refer to documentation: https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/aria/aria-operations-for-networks/6-14/vrealize-network-insight-ug-4-1-and-later-6-14/adding-a-data-source-in-vrealize-network-insight/supported-vmware-managers/add-vmware-nsx-t-manager.html

  4. Validate the datasource with username with right Role and permissions.

  5. Check the Option "Enable Netflow/ DFWFIX"

  6. Submit the datasource.

  7. Post that GUI should not show any errors.

    Refer to below screenshot:

  8. Aria Operations for Networks should now show the flows and metric data.
