Issue/Introduction

Using the downloaded ESXi offline bundle, create a baseline without internet access

Environment

ESXi 7.0

ESXi 8.0

Cause

If the vCenter is not connected to the internet to download the latest patches, follow the steps below to create an offline baseline

Resolution

Download the latest version of ESXi offline bundle and save it in the downloads folder

Access the vCenter UI and log in as an administrator

Click the menu icon and select Lifecycle Manager

Click on Actions > Import updates

Click on the Baselines menu and click New -> Baseline

Add a name to the baseline, choose Upgrade, and click Next

Uncheck the box "Automatically Update this Baseline with Patches."

Select the patch available in the list, click next, and finish

Add the new baseline on the cluster or an individual host
