Don't use special characters in the VM name when deploying system VMs/appliances

Issue/Introduction

Required plug-ins/certificates may not download for the system VM/appliances
Communication may fail between systems/applications

Examples of system VMs/appliances:
vCenter
vSAN witness appliance
SRM/vSphere Replication appliance
vSAN Snapshot Service appliance

Cause

Not all systems/applications recognize special characters contained in hostnames

Resolution

The industry standard for hostnames is not to contain any special characters, approved charters are alphabet (A-Z), digits (0-9), minus sign (-), and period (.). 
Ensure your system VMs/appliances don't contain special characters
