"Configuration document has an unsupported property: '<property>'" error while importing a cluster configuration profile to drafts on the vCenter Server

Issue/Introduction

• An error is seen mentioning "Configuration document has an unsupported property" importing a configuration profile using the "Import From File" button in the vCenter Server under Cluster > Configure > Desired State > Configuration > Draft .

• The property that is causing the issue will be displayed in the error.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server

Cause

The error is displayed when there is an error in the syntax of the json file being imported.

Resolution

• Identify the problematic property and fix the json file.
• Import the fixed json file to the desired state cluster configuration.

To identify the problematic property the json file can be visualized and compared with the expected structure of the cluster configuration.
