Issue/Introduction

SDDC deployment is failing with EXTERNALIZE_VC_FAILED Externalize Management VC Failed

Caused by: com.vmware.evo.sddc.common.vxrail.error.VxRailManagerException: Unable to fetch VC mode

Environment

SDDC 5.2.x

Cause

The service account password stored in the Cloud Builder database does not match the password stored in vCenter.

 

 

 

Resolution

Use the KB - Failed bringup via the Cloud Builder - Process to restart the workflow via API

to dump the Cloud Builder database and locate the associated password for the service account.

Go to vCenter and change the password in vCenter to match the password in the Cloud Builder database.

Retry the Bringup workflow.
