Issue/Introduction

Question:

- What logs does the SiteMinder SNMP process write to?

Answer:

The SiteMinder SNMP process writes to the following logs:

  • <siteminder-ps-location>/etc/snmp/conf/Logs/agent.log

This log contains information about the SiteMinder SNMP agent process including startup, functions being called, and shutdown.

  • <siteminder-ps-location>/etc/snmp/conf/nohup.out

  • <siteminder-ps-location>/log/smpolicysrv_snmptrap.log

This log contains trap logging information.  In order to enable this logging you must set the environment variable NETE_SNMPLOG_ENABLED=1.

Note:  The documentation incorrectly states the logs smservauth_snmptrap.log, smservaz_snmptrap.log, smservacct_snmptrap.log, and smservadm_snmptrap.log are created.  This is out of date and the documentation will be corrected.
