Issue/Introduction

After attempting to upgrade the Connector Server to version 14.5.1, the management console on web port 20443 for IAM JCS does not open, preventing access to the Connector Server's administrative interface.

Environment

Identity Manager on Vapp with 14.5.1 CHF01
Remote Connector Server with 14.5 GA being updated to 14.5.1 plus CHF01 on Windows

Environment:

  • identity Manager on Vapp with 14.5.1 CHF01
  • Remote Connector Server with 14.5 GA being updated to 14.5.1 plus CHF01 on Windows

Cause

This issue can occur if the Cumulative Hotfix 1 (CHF01) for Identity Manager on Windows, which includes critical updates for the Connector Server and related components (like ETPKI), is not applied correctly or is missing after the initial 14.5.1

Resolution

  1. Review Service Pack Documentation:
  2. Snapshot (Recommended):
    • Before proceeding, it is highly recommended to take a snapshot of your Virtual Machine or OS System for rollback purposes.
  3. Extract Service Pack Files:
    • Uncompressing the 3.6 Gb `IM-1451.tar.gz` file in your Windows environment.
    • Identify the following instruction and deployment files:
      • `CCS-1451-Instructions_On_How_To_Deploy.pdf`
      • `CCS-1451.tar.gz`
      • `ETPKI-1451-Instructions_On_How_To_Deploy.pdf`
      • `ETPKI-1451.tar.gz`
      • `JCS-1451.tar.gz`
      • `JCS-1451-Instructions_On_How_To_Deploy.pdf`
  4. Apply Cumulative Hotfix 1 (CHF01):
  5. Execute CHF01 Deployment:
    • Follow the detailed instructions provided in the following PDF files (excluding steps for Azure Connector if not deployed in your environment):
      • `CHF_CCS-14.5.1-CHF001-Instructions_On_How_To_Deploy.pdf`
      • `CHF_CCS-14.5.1-CHF001.tar.gz`
      • `CHF_JCS-14.5.1-CHF001-Instructions_On_How_To_Deploy.pdf`
      • `CHF_JCS-14.5.1-CHF001.tar.gz`

Verification:

After completing these steps, the Connector Server service should start successfully, and you should be able to connect to the JCS Administrative Console via web port 20443.
