VCSA Backup Failed with error "Failed to create backup directory on backup server"

Issue/Introduction

Backups will fail with the error message "Failed to create backup directory on backup server".

Login to the backup location from a web browser with the right credentials would be successful with modification (creating & deleting folders and files) possible at the root level.

In the log file the below can be seen:

/var/log/vmware/applmgmt/backup.log:
