Issue/Introduction

When the Performance Service is disabled for a vSAN OSA cluster, the following metrics are not collected for the child Cache Disk:

  • Total Disk Capacity
  • Used Disk Capacity
  • Free Disk Capacity

As a result, no data is displayed on the Capacity page for the Cache Disk.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

VCF Operations 9.0.x

Resolution

The issue can be resolved by enabling the Performance Service on the parent vSAN cluster.

To enable vSAN Performance Service via the Configure Tab:

  1. Navigate to the vSAN Cluster
    – Select the specific vSAN cluster you want to monitor in the vSphere Client
  2. Access vSAN Settings
    – Click on the Configure tab
    – Go to vSAN > Services in the left-hand menu

  3. Enable Performance Service
    – Locate the Performance Service section
    – Click the Edit button next to it
    – Check the box to Enable vSAN Performance Service
    – From the dropdown menu, select a storage policy for the Stats database object
    – Click Apply or OK to save the changes
