Issue/Introduction

SSO password for the vCenter was recently changed.

Post this when trying to register VLCR to vCenter it is failing with the below error.

Environment

VLCR 7.27.6.0

Cause

Every time Customer re-registers connector to vCenter it scans for the backend privileges/permissions.

In VCF, it was noticed that it is dependent on "VSPHERE.LOCAL\nsxt_XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX" role along with the same permission.

In this case we had the role but it was missing the permission for  "nsxt_XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX".

Resolution

Required permission was added to the role "VSPHERE.LOCAL\nsxt_XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX" and was able to register the vCenter successfully.

Engineering is planning to avoid the dependency on this specific role starting V28 release. Until then, we need to ensure the role "VSPHERE.LOCAL\nsxt_XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX" has the permission "nsxt_XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX" mapped to it under Global permission while registering VC.
