Issue/Introduction

The Maintenance Window Scope shows the following conditions, i.e. when an Alert tag is specified, only Alerts with the specified tag will be affected. See knowledge document Alert was fired despite they were in Maintenance Window for more information how the Alert works.

Affected Alerts = All alerts with alert tag(s), refined by point tag(s) OR source(s) OR source tag(s)

However, the Maintenance Window List screen shows the following conditions. It looks that the specified Alert tags, Point tags or Source tags need to be matched.

Alert Tags [xxxxxx] OR [Sources (xxxxxx or xxxxxx)]

Environment

Impacted version: Wavefront 236.6

Fixed version: Wavefront 236.8, 237.9, 238.1, 239.0

Resolution

The problem will be fixed in 236.8, 237.9, 238.1, or 239.0.

When creating a Maintenance Window, consider the following.

  1. Make sure the operator following the alert tags is always an AND
  2. Surround the point tags, source tags and sources parts with parenthesis
  3. See if we need to fix the operator between the source tags and sources
