The LSI Logic Parallel and LSI Logic SAS controllers are not supported for Pardus with Guest OS Version "Pardus (64-bit)"

Issue/Introduction

On ESXi 9.0, the LSI Logic Parallel and LSI Logic SAS controllers are not supported if the Guest OS Version is set to "Pardus (64-bit)".

• When configuring a VM with the Guest OS Version set to "Pardus (64-bit)" on ESXi 9.0 via the vCenter Web UI, selecting either the LSI Logic Parallel or LSI Logic SAS controller triggers the following warning:

 Not recommended for this guest OS

• When configuring the SCSI controller type directly through the ESXi Web UI, the options LSI Logic Parallel and LSI Logic SAS are not available for selection.

VMware vSphere ESXi 9.0

Resolution

To enable support for LSI Logic Parallel or LSI Logic SAS controllers on ESXi 9.0:

1. Set the Guest OS Version to "Other 6.x or later Linux (64-bit)" for Pardus 23.x
2. Set the Guest OS Version to "Other 5.x Linux (64-bit)" for Pardus 21.x.
