During NSX host preparation, NSX Manager reports Transport Node errors, causing the process to fail. Affected hosts display the following configuration error:
Host Configuration: VTEP apply operation failed: [host_ip <vmk0> not found for dvs <DVS-ID>];
VMware NSX
This error indicates that the required VMkernel interface (vmk0) could not be located on the specified Distributed Virtual Switch (DVS), preventing successful application of the Transport Node configuration.
Verify that the vmk0 interface is connected to the appropriate DVS in the vCenter UI. It should not be associated with a standard switch or any DVS not designated for NSX use.
If vmk0 is incorrectly mapped:
Migrate the vmk0 to the correct DVS that is configured for NSX integration.
For detailed steps on performing this migration, refer to the Broadcom technical documentation: Migrate VMkernel Adapters to a vSphere Distributed Switch.
