Items created in JIRA mysteriously via ConnectALL by service account

Issue/Introduction

A number of new Jira items were created by this reporter(Jira Service Account) that appear to be clones of old Jira items that are resolved.
Can we find out why the items were created by this reporter? It appears to have been done in error and the items need to be removed.

Cause

You are likely to end up in such situation of duplicate records in source when you have bidirectional create + duplicate automation as explained below.

1. Create automation to sync(create + Update) records from Jira to Rally and vice versa.
2. Sync a bunch of records in Jira and let them get created in Rally.
3. For some reason, if you delete this automation and create a new automation to sync the same records.

It will create duplicates in Rally but if you have create enabled on both sides, it is likely to create duplicates in Jira.

Resolution

To avoid the duplication, you can enable Dynamic Record Linking as explained in TechDoc.
