Issue/Introduction

We are getting these errors:
XCOMM0127E FMH7 SENSE 08890000 - GDS MSG FOLLOWS
XCOMM0115E ERROR LOADING FROM TEMPFILE FOR PROG LIBRARY=xxxxxxx

whenever we try to transfer a PDSE Program Library.

Environment

Release:CA XCOM Data Transport for z/OS
Component: XCMVS

Cause

If you receive these messages, it indicates that the XCOMPRNT DD is missing.

Resolution

Specifying PROGLIB=YES indicates that the dataset to be transferred is a PDSE program library. PROGLIB=YES also requires the specification of XCOMPRNT DD statements on both sides of the transfer.

If you receive this message, it indicates that the XCOMPRNT DD is missing. Check the following places:

  1. Add the XCOMPRNT DD to the TSO logon procedure with TERM=TS or allocate it from inside TSO prior to getting into XCOM.

  2. For TYPE=EXECUTE transfers, specify //XCOMPRNT DD SYSOUT=* in the batch XCOMJOB JCL.

  3. For TYPE=SCHEDULE transfers, Specify //XCOMPRNT DD SYSOUT=* in the XCOM server JCL for the side initiating the transfer.

  4. For all transfers, specify //XCOMPRNT DD SYSOUT=* in the XCOM server JCL for the side receiving the transfer.

The XCOMPRNT SYSOUT file is needed to hold IBM error messages related to the IEBCOPY of the temporary data set.
