This is observed in vCenter UI > Cluster > Storage > New datastore > Name and device selection
Creating datastore from host UI may also report slowness.

The Add storage wizard on vCenter UI queries all the storage to see the devices that are available. Slowness behavior is observed when there are storage I/O errors or high load on the storage array and this can lead to delay in populating the storage devices.
Engage the storage vendor to further investigate the issue.
