Issue/Introduction

Customer unable to detect the patch build image for the ESXi host via the SDDC image management.

Environment

vCenter 7.x

vCenter 8.x

ESXi  7.x

ESXi 8.x

SDDC 5.x

Cause

possible unsupported hardware vibs

Resolution

Login to the vCenter UI > Create a dummy cluster in the MGMT domain > Create a vLCM image that matches the target version >

 

Login to the SDDC UI > Lifecycle Management > Image Management > Import Image > Select the MGMT domain and the cluster.
