Issue/Introduction

During the V2T test migration we receive the following error

"Config translation failed [Reason: [Host Switch Profiles] Can not proceed with migration: The currently configured NIOC version2 on VDS: vDS##### cannot be migrated. Please upgrade to NIOC version3."

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

The migration fails because the vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS) used in the environment is configured with Network I/O Control (NIOC) version 2, which is not supported for NSX-T V2T migration. The NSX-T migration coordinator requires NIOC version 3 on the vDS to properly translate and migrate host switch profiles.

Resolution

Upgrade the vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS) to NIOC version 3.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Web Client.
  2. Navigate to the affected vDS
  3. Right-click the vDS and select Upgrade.
  4. In the wizard, ensure Network I/O Control version 3 is selected.
  5. Complete the upgrade process.
