Issue/Introduction

You have a VMware Identity manager 3.3.7 appliance which is connected to or deployed from VMware Aria suite lifecycle 8.18.x However you see there is no license details mentioned in the license page of vIDM or on Aria suite lifecycle.

  • When they try to assign any VMware Aria Universal Suite License to vIDM from UI following the Enter the License Key documentation. you get error 'License could not be saved'
  • When they try to assign this license from Aria Suite Lifecycle, you see 'Add license' button is greyed out in product details

Environment

VMware Aria Suite lifecycle 8.18.x

VMware Identity manager 3.3.7.0

Resolution

vIDM appliances which are connected to or deployed from Aria Suite Lifecycle do not need any licenses.

The license page in vIDM UI is there from the older versions when vIDM could be deployed as standalone product. This is not supported anymore.

There is no action required on the License page in vIDM UI
