Issue/Introduction

In Aria Operations, you may experience the following symptoms:

  • Cluster stuck at "Going Offline" and all the cloud proxies are showing "Outdated life status"
  • Nodes in the cluster were manually restarted and the status then showed Offline when logging into the admin UI.
  • The cluster cannot be brought back online.
  • Cloud proxies are showing "Outdated life status" even after restarting the cluster nodes
  • When accessing the admin UI through your web browser, the address bar shows a warning or error. Upon inspection of the certificate through the browser, the expiration shows a date in the past.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

Cause

When a certificate expires for cluster nodes, the cluster will not be able to go offline through the admin UI as the nodes will not be able to communicate with each other.

Resolution

Follow the steps in Reload the default certificate in Aria Operations to reload a new default certificate with an expiration date in the future.
