How can I find out the default SMRT values for a new release of CA TPX?

When upgrading to a new release of TPX, the recommended defaults may change for things such as SLOT sizes.
How do you identify if any changes are required to your existing SMRT values that are being brought forward to the new release in the existing VSAM files?

The best way to do this is to create a new SMRT. The new table will be populated with all of the current defaults. You can then use this to manually compare against your existing tables.
Create a new table as follows:
- Start TPXADMIN session
- Select TPX System Options
- Select System Options (SMRT)
- On the command line, enter "S smrtname"
For example in TPX 5.4, you might do the following:
TPX System Options Table List
Command ===> s smrtv540
Press <enter> to display the new SMRT with current default values:
TPX System Options Table Option Menu
Select Option ===>
System Options Table: SMRTV540 <New>
So then selecting option 2 - Storage Parameters, will show you the defaults for TPX 5.4 slot pools:

Now you can either save this SMRT for future reference or PF3 to cancel. You can always go thru this process at any time to check values.
