Issue/Introduction

  • How to use only Auth password for SNMP V3 traps.

  • Traps are getting processed by TE even if incorrect auth password is set in the TE seedfile.

Environment

All supported releases of Smart

Cause

By default the trap authentication is not strictly checked. It is done for other types of packets. 

Resolution

To enforce trap authentication for the traps add the below line in the runcmd_env.sh and restart TE service:

SM_SNMP_V3_STRICT_TRAP_CHECK=TRUE
