Issue/Introduction

  • The vSphere Namespaces do not exist in Aria Operations
  • The vCenter adapter is configured with a collection user with a custom role that has already been granted global administrator privileges in vCenter

Environment

VMware Aria Operations 8.18.x
VMware Cloud Foundation Operations 9.0

Cause

The collection user defined for the vCenter adapter is not a member of the ServiceProviderUser group in the vCenter.

Resolution

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client as an administrative user
  2. Navigate to Administration > Single Sign On > Users and Groups > Groups
  3. Click the radio button next to the ServiceProviderUsers group and click Edit
  4. Use the Add a member section to add the collection user defined for the vCenter adapter in Aria Operations and click Save
