Issue/Introduction

When attempting to start the Diagram Trace Utility (DTU) it fails and the following error message is produced:

Resolution

This is usually caused by a corruption in the DTU workspace files as result of a previous crash. The simplest way to correct the problem is to force the DTU to create a new workspace as follows:

  1. Go to directory C:\Documents and Settings\<USERID>\DiagramTraceUtility
  2. Rename directory workspace to workspace_bak
  3. Restart the DTU. A new workspace directory should be created.
