Issue/Introduction
- When attempting to access the VMware Cloud Director Availability (VCDA) plugin in VMware Cloud Director (VCD), an error similar to the following is encountered:
The service at https://####.####.###:443 is currently not accessible.Please follow the link above and make sure that you accept any certificate warning and confirm certificate exception. - When opening the link referenced in the warning (e.g.,
https://####.####.###:443), the browser warns about a certificate or security issue.
Environment
VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.x
Cause
The VCDA plugin for VCD utilizes the configured VCDA Public Service Endpoint address to provide the interface. If the local browser cannot access this address for any reason, the plugin will be unable to load correctly and will display this error.
Resolution
In order to load the plugin, please us the following steps:
- Access the plugin using a supported browser.
- Copy the URL from the error provided (e.g.,
https://####.####.###:443). - Open a new tab or window and enter the address.
- Correct any security warnings and trust the certificate.
- Return to the plugin interface and validate that it loads correctly.
Please note, if the Public Service Endpoint URL displayed in the error cannot be accessed directly in a separate window or tab, the plugin will not be able to load and the configuration will require review to determine the cause of the access failure.
