Issue/Introduction

As part of VCF 9.0 environment, a Fleet Manager appliance is to be deployed.

During configuration Stage 9 in the Aria Operations upgrade 8.x to VCF Operations 9.0, vCenter is not listed on the pull down menu for deploying the new Fleet Manager appliance.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x

VCF Operations 9.0

VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.18.x

Cause

A vCenter Inventory Sync wasn't completed prior to the VCF 9.0 upgrade.

Resolution

In Aria Suite Lifecycle Manager, perform a vCenter data collection refresh on the Management vCenter in which the Aria Operations 8.x is deployed prior to the VCF Operations 9.0 upgrade.  Remove the Existing Upgrade Request and Restart new request.

  • On LCM, go to Datacenters.
  • Click and select the Management vCenter, then click on the "Refresh Data Collection" icon.

  • Confirm it is successfully completed.
  • Next, Click on Requests.
  • Select the existing upgrade request in Pending status. Click to Delete this request.

  • Once request has been deleted. Proceed to perform the upgrade again.
  • The vCenter should now be listed in the vCenter pull down menu.
