Issue/Introduction

• When attempting to move VM's / vApps between vApps / Org VDC's you get the following error in the vCD UI: Cannot migrate VM com.vmware.vcloud.entity.vm:########-####-####-####-############ which is part of an affinity/anti-affinity rule.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director 10.6.X
VMware Cloud Director 10.5.X

Cause

This issue occurs due to the VM's being part of an affinity/anti-affinity rule in the source Organization VDC.

Resolution

To resolve this issue please perform the following steps:

• Login to the Tenant Portal
• Select the Source Organization VDC
• Under Compute Select Affinity Rules
• Remove the VM from any Affinity/Anti-Affinity Rules
• Attempt the migration again.
