Error: 'Credential Verification Failure' for endpoints added in Usage Meter

Issue/Introduction

Collection error log will report the following failure for affected endpoint(s) added in Usage Meter:
PinnedCertificateTrustManager : No pinned certificate for <FQDN / IP_Address>:443
HTTP transport error: org.bouncycastle.tls.TlsFatalAlert: certificate unknown(46)

Environment

vCloud Usage Meter 4.x
VCF Usage Meter 9.0

Cause

Due to the presence of duplicate certificate(s) of the affected endpoint(s) in the path:
/opt/vmware/cloudusagemetering/var/certificate

Resolution

Note: Make sure to have snapshot of the appliance prior to following the steps:
  1. Take SSH session to Usage Meter using usagemeter account credentials.
  2. Promote the user to root by following command:
    su root
  3. Delete all duplicate certificate(s) of affected endpoint(s) using rm from following path:
    /opt/vmware/cloudusagemetering/var/certificate
  4. Delete the affected endpoint(s) from Usage Meter UI.
  5. Stop all services:
    stop.sh All
  6. Start all services:
    start.sh All
  7. Re-add the endpoint(s) from UI and accept certificate as it appears.
