Issue/Introduction

  • IP Space Migration
  • Violation reported as below during IP Space migration:
    • "IP Address ###.###.##.## is being used across different services (NAT, IPSEC_VPN) on Edge Gateway #######"
  • Migrating from IP Blocks to IP Spaces with duplicate IPs used for different services

Environment

  • VMware Cloud Director 10.5.1.1

Cause

This limitation has been added in place. If you use IP Space based entities, user would not need to manually enter any IP (edge nat, vpn etc). A dropdown is made available and IP Space auto allocates the next free IP. So same IP will not be used across two edge services. Hence the limitation is added in the pre-check

Resolution

The workaround would be to update the duplicate IP for the services so that they are unique.

If this is not possible, you can submit a Feature Request for this functionality: Submit a VMware feature request or continue to use IP Blocks
