Environment

XCOM™ Data Transport® for Linux

Resolution

  1. Backup procedure for the trusted user database and history database if used.
Per the doc. pages below the upgrade will upgrade the trusted database and history database schemas.
It will not make a backup of those databases, so it is advisable that you make your own backups of both databases prior to the upgrade.
Ongoing backups of the trusted and history databases is something that should already be done on a regular basis.

  2. Procedure to upgrade from 11.6 to 12.0.
Here is the main doc page covering install, upgrade, configure: Installing
It contains various sections including Upgrade from a Previous Release
As 11.6 is a supported release use the section Upgrade from a Supported Release

  3. Relevant download links.
    a. The XCOM Data Transport for Linux 12.0 base version can be downloaded from the XCOM Products Download page.
Type Linux into the search box and then the page for "XCOM Data Transport for Linux (PC) LINUX -ALL" will become easily visible - expand it to see the hyperlink for 12.0.
Only file DVDLinux120.iso ("CA XCOM Data Transport for Linux PC 12.0 0000 - Product Package") needs to be downloaded.
    b. After the base 12.0 version there are release patches/solutions which have cumulative fixes.
Therefore after the upgrade to 12.0 the latest patch/solution should be installed and that can be found from the XCOM Solutions Download page
Type Linux into the search box and then the page for "XCOM Data Transport for Linux (PC) LINUX -ALL" will become easily visible - expand it to see the hyperlink for 12.0. Install the latest patch/Solution which due to cumulative fixes will contain all fixes since the 12.0 base version.
