Tanzu Hub install fails with 400 response code.

Issue/Introduction

A user attempts to install Tanzu Hub tile and see's below error on Apply Changes:

Creating and uploading releases:
- Uploading release 'tanzu-platform-registry-data/100.0.21':
     Uploading release file:
       Director responded with non-successful status code '400' response 'Invalid multipart/form-data: Rack::Multipart::EmptyContentError'
Exit code 1
Exit status 1

Cause

Insufficient ephemeral disk space on bosh director VM, specifically the /var/vcap/data/ directory.

bosh_director_logs -> create-env-vm-logs -> director -> error.log:

<DATE><TIME> [crit] 8#0: *1976 pwrite() "/var/vcap/data/director/tmp/0000000009" failed (28: No space left on device), client: 10.xx.xxx.xx, server: , request: "POST /releases? HTTP/1.1", host: "10.xx.xxx.xxx:1234"

 

Resolution

1. Increase ephemeral disk space on Bosh Director.

2. Retry Apply-Changes.

Additional Information

Increasing/decreasing bosh director vm disks is a IaaS related task.
