Issue/Introduction
Symantec VIP provides a preview feature to integrate with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) using External Authentication Methods (EAM). Symantec VIP preview feature supports EAM as a new method for connecting 3rd party MFA solutions into Entra ID. EAM is based on the OIDC standard and will be the long-term replacement for custom controls. Symantec VIP preview feature allows you to verify the integration with Entra ID using EAM. VIP continue to support both the custom controls integration as well as EAM at this time.
Note: Microsoft is in the process of phasing out custom controls and will soon require that all organizations configure an authentication method to satisfy MFA requirements.

Symantec VIP integration with Entra ID EAM feature is still a preview feature and has to be enabled per tenant basis. Please refer to the integration guide for the exact steps on how to enable and configure this feature in your VIP tenant.
