Fixing Missing Group Context in Dashboards within NetOps portal

Issue/Introduction

Dashboards no longer display the associated group context. This occurs when views are added to a dashboard page without first selecting a context.

DX NetOps Portal All releases

Cause

Views added before selecting a group context do not inherit the proper context settings, resulting in missing or incorrect data display

Resolution

To ensure dashboards correctly reflect the intended group context, follow these steps in order:

Steps to Fix the Issue

1. Select the Group Context
   • Use the ‘Select Context’ option to choose the relevant group.
2. Add Views to the Page
   • Only after the group context is selected, begin adding the desired views.
3. Save the Page
   • This ensures all views inherit and retain the fixed group context.

Optional: Manually Set Fixed Context in Views

After saving the page, you may also choose to manually edit individual views to explicitly set a fixed context if needed.

Important Note

The order of operations is critical.
Selecting the context before adding views ensures the correct context is applied and maintained.
