Performance Report Designer (PRD) Last Day charts do not render

Issue/Introduction

You are designing or running a Performance Report in DX UIM 23.4.4 or prior and the performance of "Last Day" charts is poor.  

The charts do not render, or take 20 minutes to finish rendering.

"Last Hour" and "Last Month" do not exhibit the same symptoms.

Environment

DX UIM 23.4.4 or prior
MSSQL Database

Cause

Slow performance of the aggregation algorithm in the stored procedure that gathers the data

Resolution

The performance of the stored procedure is currently (as of July 2025) undergoing optimization by the engineering team.  At this time we do not have a specific ETA for when this will be completed.

As a workaround, before switching to the "Last Day" report, choose an Aggregation Interval of 30 minutes instead of "Automatic."  This will result in a "smoother" graph due to the higher interval but will allow the report to load more quickly.

 

After selecting the 30 minute interval, you can switch to Last Day and the same interval will remain selected.
