Issue/Introduction

In some cases the ring buffer overflow may be checked for be by using Large packet loss in the guest OS using VMXNET3 in ESXi or The output of esxtop show dropped receive packets at the virtual switch and it may be desirable to show this metric in Aria Operations.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.x
ESXi 8.x

Resolution

There is not a ring buffer overflow or out of buffer metric that is associated to ESXi.  There is also not a similar metric at the VM level, however, packet loss metrics may be an indication that the condition is occurring under Inventory>vSphere World>vCenter>Cluster>Host>VM>Metrics>Network>Aggregate of all Instances>Packets Dropped (%).
