Issue/Introduction

You encounter the error "Failed to authenticate to HMS server" when integrating the vSphere Replication Adapter in Aria Operations

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x

vSphere Replication Adapter 9.0.x

Cause

1. vSphere Replication's FQDN or IP address was configured in the integration instead of the vCenter Server.

2. The format of the username for the credential is not correct.

Resolution

1. As shown in the following screenshot, make sure you use the vCenter server's FQDN or IP address as instructed.

2. Make sure the user name is "[email protected]", not "domain\username" or other formats.
