After a network impact to a vSAN cluster, when communication is restored and all data is healthy, a warning message is seen in the vSAN cluster view in vCenter.
vSAN datastore XXXX in cluster YYYY in datacenter ZZZZ does not have capacity
However from the Skyline health check, and from checking each ESXi host, the vSAN datastore is healthy, and does have capacity.
vSAN 7.x
vSAN 8.x
VSAN 9.x
The interruption of communication between vCenter and ESXi hosts in the vSAN cluster leads to a situation where this warning message remains in place even after the network impact is resolved.
Restart vCenter.
If the problem persists, perform a reboot of all ESXi hosts in the vSAN cluster, one by one, putting each one into Maintenance Mode using either the Ensure Data Accessibility or Full Data Migration option.
Alternatively, or if the problem persists even after rebooting the ESXi hosts, create a new vSAN cluster, and move the ESXi hosts into it:
1. Right-click on Datacenter, select 'New Cluster' and choose the appropriate settings for your cluster, matching the old one.
2. Drag all ESXi hosts into the new cluster.
3. Confirm the new cluster is healthy, vSAN datastore capacity is correct, and the previous capacity warning is not shown on the new cluster.
