[VMC] VM goes into hung state during VMware Live Cyber Recovery backup

Issue/Introduction

• When VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VLCR) backup is being performed (LWD-based snapshot), you may notice that the VM goes into hung state.
• You have other third party backup solutions that uses VMware APIs for Data Protection (VADP) running for this VM.

Environment

VMware Cloud on AWS

Cause

VLCR and third party backup solutions that uses VADP may be running at the same time causing a conflict resulting in the backups to fail and VM going in hung state.

Resolution

• Apart from VLCR, if there are other third party backup solutions running for a VM, schedule the backups in such a way that those do not cause a conflict.
• For immediate remediation of the VM in hung state, kindly raise a case with the VMware Cloud on AWS team with the following details:-
  • SDDC ID (Get Support)
  • Name of the VM which is in hung state
