Feature Request to Add Separate Policy Admin Roles in SMG

Issue/Introduction

A feature request currently exists to add more administration roles in Symantec Messaging Gateway (SMG).

The proposed change would replace the current “Manage policies” right under Administration > Policies > Administration with separate permissions for each policy type. This would allow administrators to delegate more specific responsibilities to different admin roles.

Proposed New Policy Rights

The new rights would include:

• Manage reputation policies

• Manage malware policies

• Manage spam policies

• Manage threat defense policies

• Manage content policies

This is currently a feature request and is not yet available.
