Host group upgrade status is FAILED for group xxxx:domain-xx xxxx :

[Upgrade failed: Solution apply failed on host: ‘xxxx’.
The ‘xxxx for VMware ESX’ component version ‘xxxx’ was deleted from vSphere Lifecycle image.
Please proceed to the vSphere Client Lifecycle Manager to delete the component and update the solution ‘com.vmware.nsxt’.

Upgrade failed: Solution apply failed on host: ‘xxxx’.]



• On the Lifecycle manager, the questioned host reported the following message: 

  A general system error occurred: Solution apply failed on host: '<esxi_hostname>'

  Host is out of compliance with the image

Environment

VMware NSX-T Data Center 3.x
VMware NSX 4.x

Cause

The required VIB is not included in the vSphere Lifecycle Manager image depot, and thus is removed after host remediation. 

Resolution

Remediate the cluster image first, before reattempting from SDDC, as is described in the document: Prepare an NSX-T Cluster with vSphere Lifecycle Manager.  Hosts need to be compliant before NSX pushes the NSX VIBs via the VLCM-Solution on the hosts.
