Unable to save cluster: image Error "Software Solution com.vmware.nsxt with version 4.2.2.1.0-24765085 cannot be found in depot."

Issue/Introduction

• After upgrading or configuring NSX on ESXi hosts, in the Updates tab view of a cluster managed with Lifecycle Manager, when validating the image configured for this cluster, you are getting the error "Software Solution com.vmware.nsxt with version 4.2.2.1.0-24765085 cannot be found in depot.", as below:

Note: In VCF environments, ESXi upgrade prechecks may fail in SDDC Manager with error "Unable to import cluster image for vLCM upgrade check : Image is not valid"

• When trying to install NSX on ESXi host, below errors could also be seen.

"Failed to install software on host. Setting NSX as desired state of vLCM enabled cluster failed with error: Software Solution com.vmware.nsxt with version 4.2.2.1.0-24765085 cannot be found in depot.. Retry Transport Node Collection at cluster."

 

 

Environment

VMware vSphere ESXi 8.0.x

VMware NSX 4.x

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

Cause

The matching nsx-lcp bundle is missing from the vLCM offline depot or the VMware Update Manager (VUM) database contains inconsistent records for the NSX components.

Resolution

Download the NSX Kernel Module for VMware ESXi (matching your ESXi version: nsx-lcp or nsx-lcp-esxio) from the Broadcom support portal, and import it manually into the software depot of the vCenter using the Lifecycle Manager UI:

Once the upload has completed successfully, the cluster compliance check should validate.

NOTE:  If the previous task did not work:

• IF this did not work 

  1. Reset the Vum database 
     • Resetting the VMware Update Manager Database
  2. Add the NSX depot again to the lifecycle manager. 
  3. Check the cluster status
