Issue/Introduction

Aria Operations for Networks is showing 'Invalid credentials' for NSX managers after NSX manager password update.
Updating new password does not fix the issue. It still shows 'Invalid Credentials'

Environment

Aria Operations for Networks

Cause

User account used to add data source is locked in NSX manager due to invalid password attempts.

Resolution

Steps to recover from this state -

1. Check account lockout policy for API in NSX manager, and temporarily change the lockout period and maximum authorization failure attempts to a different value if the current value is too aggressive. Refer to NSX administration guide - Authentication Policy
2. Update correct password in Aria Operations for Networks after lockout period is over.

Additional Information

NSX account lockout policy is a security feature that locks a user account when a user account fails to login due to incorrect password for the configured number of times in the configured interval.
